VETARYS Announces Partnership with Antigenesis Biologics to Develop a Combination Immunotherapy to Treat Canine Cancers

By October 26, 2026No Comments

Today, at the 2026 Boston Animal Health, Nutrition and Technology Innovation (AHNTI) Conference, VETARYS (www.vetarys.com) announced a research collaboration and option for an exclusive license for a canine combination immunotherapy being developed as a fusion protein by Antigenesis Biologics (www.antigenesis-bio.com), targeting solid tumors in dogs.

Antigenesis builds on the latest advances in proven human immunotherapies to develop first-in-class antibody therapeutics for companion animals, starting with canine oncology.

“Today’s standard-of-care treatments for cancer in dogs remain largely limited to radiation and chemotherapy with variable efficacy and significant side effects,” said Peter Hanson, Chief Scientific Officer at VETARYS. “The fusion protein being developed by Antigenesis combines two immunotherapies that together have demonstrated compelling improvements in survival and tumor shrinkage in the severe mouse melanoma model. Our target is to develop a subcutaneous therapy that can be administered by primary care veterinarians as a complement to veterinary oncology specialists, whose numbers are too few to reach every dog that needs cancer care.”
